Emporiki Bank has its roots back in 1907 being one of the largest commercial Greek banks.
Emporiki Bank became part of Credit Agricole, following the acquisition of 72% of the share capital of Emporiki Bank of Greece by the French financial group that took place in 2006.

Emporiki Bank has a presence in 5 countries (Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Albania and Cyprus), while Credit Agricole group counts over 70 countries in which it is present.
In Romania, Emporiki Bank is present since 1996 and has currently over 300 employees and a network counting 24 branches covering all major cities of the country and targets to reach 155 branches by 2011.
